Engraved at the top on the marline with the name of the event, its date and the distance covered: 8 Miles. On the bottom of the dish: 1st Marquis de Yvanrey in 12 m. 34 s., average: 61.430, Class X outboards. The center is engraved with the marquis's coat of arms.
Neck brace hallmark, goldsmith Boin Taburet in Paris. (This company name having ceased to exist in 1900, the engraving was therefore made in 1929 on a 19th century plate)
Weight: 900 grams.
History: In Spain, Ricardo Soriano, Marquis de Yvanrey, passionate about motor sports, built his own racers in the unlimited category. Dissatisfied with commercial speedboats, he decided to finance the construction of an engine capable of beating the Americans. It was the legendary 6-cylinder boxer compressor engine called "Soriano" which was built in only a few examples but proved practically unbeatable. The Frenchman Jean Dupuy bought the license and continued construction a few years after the war.
