Having established its performance credentials with the fearsome Mach III two-stroke triple, Kawasaki aced the opposition again with the awe-inspiring Z1. Launched in 1972, the big 'Zed' set new road-bike performance standards, at least as far as straight-line speed was concerned. With 82bhp on tap, top speed was around 130mph, but if the rider used all that power on twisty roads, things could get exciting. As a fast tourer, though, the Z1 excelled. Purchased by the vendor some time ago, this Z1 has been kept in a climate-controlled environment as part of a collection. Used sparingly, the machine shows 74,340 kilometres on the odometer and is offered with a Swiss Carte Grise and one key.

Après avoir établi sa notoriété sportive avec la terrifiante Mach III, une trois-cylindres deux-temps, Kawasaki triompha une fois de plus de ses concurrents avec l'effrayante Z1. Lancée en 1972, la grosse 'Zed' établit de nouvelles références de performances pour les motos de tourisme, au moins pour ce qui était de la vitesse en ligne droite. Ses 82 ch la menaient aux alentours de 210 km/h, mais si son pilote se servait de toute cette puissance sur des routes sinueuses, les choses pouvaient devenir passionnantes. En tant que routière rapide, la Z1 était toutefois excellente.
Achetée il y a quelque temps par son actuel propriétaire, cette Z1 a été conservée au sein de sa collection maintenue sous atmosphère contrôlée. Utilisée avec parcimonie, elle affiche 74 340 km au compteur. Elle est munie de sa carte grise suisse et d'une clé.
