In November 1951 Norton's 500cc twin-cylinder engine found a new home in the racing singles' 'Featherbed' duplex frame. Initially for export only, the newcomer - titled 'Dominator 88' - was the first production Norton roadster to feature the lightweight, race-proven chassis.

Purchased by the vendor some time ago, this Dominator 88 has been kept in a climate-controlled environment as part of collection and used sparingly. It should be noted that this machine's engine number is not a Norton factory stamping; accordingly, prospective purchasers must satisfy themselves with regard to this motorcycle's specification, originality and correctness prior to bidding. The machine is offered with a Swiss Carte Grise and is sold strictly as viewed.

En novembre 1951, le bicylindres 500 cm3 Norton se retrouva implanté dans le cadre duplex 'Featherbed' des monocylindres de course. Initialement réservée à l'exportation, la nouvelle venue, dénommée Dominator 88, était la première Norton de tourisme à adopter en série ce cadre allégé, qui avait fait ses preuves en compétition.

Achetée il y a quelque temps par son actuel propriétaire, cette Dominator 88 a été conservée au sein de sa collection maintenue sous atmosphère contrôlée et a été utilisée avec parcimonie. On notera que son numéro de moteur n'a pas été frappé par l'usine Norton ; en conséquence, les acheteurs potentiels doivent s'assurer par eux-mêmes de la définition, de l'authenticité et de la conformité de cette moto avant d'enchérir. Elle est proposée avec sa carte grise suisse et est vendue strictement en l'état.
