Introduced in 1975, the stunningly beautiful 308 GTB, Ferrari's second V8-engined road car, marked a return to Pininfarina styling following the Bertone-designed 308 GT4. Badged as a Ferrari rather than a Dino, the 308 GTB had changed little mechanically apart from a reduction in both wheelbase and weight, retaining its predecessor's underpinnings and transversely mounted 3.0-litre quad-cam engine that now featured dry-sump lubrication. This superbly engineered power unit produced 255bhp, an output good enough to propel the 308 GTB to over 150mph. An exhilarating driver's car and a Ferrari purist's delight, the 308 GTB and its derivatives proved a huge commercial success for Maranello with over 12,000 sold.

This 308 GTB has belonged to the vendor since 1988 and was in regular summer usage until 2004. Kept in storage since then, the Ferrari was fully restored in 2023 and has covered 'minimal mileage' only since completion. (The engine was subject to a major overhaul 6,000 miles ago and the transmission likewise 7,000 miles ago.) The rebuild cost approximately £120,000 and is documented by bills and photographs. As one would expect of a car that has been cherished by its enthusiast owner so long, the Ferrari comes with extensive history including original Maranello Concessionaires sales, delivery, and specification paperwork and numerous bills for the period 1979 to 1988. All bills from 1988 onwards are present also. Presented in excellent condition, the car comes complete with a full-size spare wheel, and new interior floor mats and a fresh MOT. Offered with a V5C.
