An old Pennsylvania title copy for the Antique Historic registration '64VB', shows that this Porsche once belonged to a Mr Montchal of Hershey, PA. There are also various insurance documents in Mr Montchal's name dating back to 1992, and sundry invoices from German Classic Cars (Dennis J Frick) dating back to 1995. (The engine number is listed as '74231' at that time.) They did much work on the Porsche in 2003, the bill amounting to $8,400.
Subsequently imported into the UK, at which time it belonged to a Mr Warlow of East Sussex, the Porsche appears to have gone to Maxted-Page & Prill for a minor service, while an invoice dated March 2003 from Karmann Connections confirms that Mr Warlow ordered front floors, seat mount jacks, and nearside rear and offside front reinforcing plates. At an unknown date, presumably post-2003, the car was fitted with the 616/33-1 engine, number P*012616*.
Our vendor purchased the car in March 2015, since when it has formed part of his Porsche collection. '356 CPC' has taken part in a '356' parade in the UK and also been used for trips to the pub and occasional visits to Goodwood. Lack of use is the reason for sale. The car comes with the aforementioned bills; jack and tool roll; DVLA paperwork; various old MoTs; a V5C document; and a 1954 Pre-A factory brochure. The Porsche is finished in green metallic with beige interior, the latter equipped with a desirable Telefunken radio, and is 'on the button'.
