• Extensively upgraded for Historic Road rallying
• Steve Harris Engineering 1,293cc engine and straight-cut gearbox
• Present ownership since 2002
• Always dry stored

Built in 1966, this Austin Mini Cooper S Mk1 has been extensively modified and upgraded to make it suitable for historic road rallying. The car has belonged to the vendor since 2002 and has been driven all over Europe with great success. Steve Harris Engineering has rebuilt the engine and gearbox, the former being enlarged from 1,275 to 1,293cc and the latter fitted with straight-cut gears fitted. Benefitting from a recent service from Bill Rawles Classic Cars at a cost of £1,500, we are advised the car has a strong and rev-happy engine and is said to be direct and precise on the road. Always stored in a dry garage, the car has been cherished and we are advised is 'ready to go'. The accompanying documents file contains the original logbook, a Heritage Certificate, and a considerable amount of history. Specification highlights include the following (full list on request):

• Safety Devices bolted-in roll cage
• Navigator light
• Stalked spotlights
• Race harness
• Twin fuel tanks
• Halda-style rally trip
• Cooper S front disc brakes
• Compass
• Works-style dash
• Period race/bucket seats
• Monte Carlo sump guard
• New fuel pump (fitted March 2024)
• New steel wheels
• Dynamite alternator (looks like classic dynamo)
• New Falken tyres x4
• Leather bonnet/boot straps
• Cibié front spotlights
• RC40 Mini exhaust
• Period-style heated front and rear windows

A perfect car for the many historic rallies available to the motoring enthusiast, ready for a lucky new owner to live out their rallying dreams.
