According to our vendor, this car is believed to be one of the first, if not the first, right-hand drive Décapotable. The car was registered 'PVY 1' in York in August 1962 and first owned by one Carl Rosen, a local jeweller. It was re-registered '851 BDN' in 1966, passing through a couple of dealerships before going to its second owner in 1967, and remaining with them until circa 1971, before passing to its next custodian, a Mr Hallett, who kept the Citroën for some 34 years. Our vendor purchased the car in April 2005 and has used it for various local rallies and a couple of French events including last year's Tour de Bretagne.

In 2009 the chassis was subject to a complete body-off restoration, with any rusted panels cut out and repaired with new. The bodywork was then re-sprayed to a high standard. A full photographic record of the work and bills totalling more than £25,000 are on file. In addition, the engine was rebuilt with a reground crankshaft, new cylinders and pistons, and a reconditioned cylinder head. The vendor states that the leather seats are well worn and would benefit from refurbishment, and that, although quiet and easy to operate, the gearbox sometimes jumps out of 1st gear. All the electrics are reported as working. Upgrades consist of electronic ignition, seatbelts, and a stainless steel exhaust. The hydraulic system of this car uses the synthetic LHS2 fluid used on D-series cars up to 1966.

The car comes complete with a handbook, workshop manual, jack, starting handle, and some spares to include a complete gearbox and some hydraulic components. Photocopies of the car's original Henri Chapron paperwork are on file.
