PIOT Child's Cycle Car

PIOT Child's Cycle Car
Registration no. not registered
Chassis no. n/a
Engine no. 93812 P109

• Built for the child of a well-respected private collector
• In the present ownership since at least the 1960s
• Barn stored
• Almost entirely untouched for the last 40-50 years

Although the full history of this wonderful cycle car is not known, it has been with the current owners since at least the 1960s and has sat proudly in a car barn surrounded by classic Bentleys and Rolls-Royces for the duration of its life. Powered by a single-cylinder sidevalve engine of unknown make, it is believed to have been built for the child of a well-respected car collector and road rally enthusiast. Both the craftsmanship and authenticity of this cycle car's genuine classic-era components are indicative of the work that was carried out on the family's extensive private collection, with no expense spared and no corners being cut. Family photographs dating from the 1960s/1970s show the car in use around the very barn it is stored in today. The car was very likely built by or for the family as they had all the contacts necessary to achieved this, right down to the hand-beaten bodywork and complex steering system. The car has been left almost entirely untouched for the last 40-50 years but there are no signs of its condition having deteriorated. A truly wonderful and unique cycle car for your child or the big child in you.
