Only 42 examples of the 928S Series 4 SE were built (only for the UK market), making it one of the rarest and most collectible of modern Porsches. This outstanding matching-numbers example has benefited from a year's work by a foremost marque specialist and is presented in superb condition. This is number '5' of the 42 produced and one of only three Guards Red SE models remaining on the road out of 10 known survivors.

Sympathetically refurbished, the interior is now in excellent condition while retaining the patina of 37 years' use, reflecting the low mileage (2,600 miles annually) and obvious care taken by previous owners. The engine has had an extensive service including the all important cam-belt, water pump, spark plugs, filters, sensors, etc. It also benefits from a 'top-end' refresh involving a strip-down to remove the inlet manifold, fuel system, cam covers and water distribution system. The idle valve (ISV) was replaced, throttle position sensor MAF calibrated, and new hoses and vacuum pipes fitted. The knock sensors and Hall sensor were all replaced and the fuel injectors ultrasonically cleaned. The inlet manifold and cam covers were stripped and repainted, and the engine bay cleaned throughout. Any parts not up to standard were refurbished or replaced. Our vendor states that the engine starts and runs as it should with no hesitation or roughness. (It should be noted that it runs on Valvoline VR1 Racing 20W50 oil and E0 or E5 fuel only.)

The five-speed, close-ratio, limited-slip transaxle has been cleaned and filled with 75/90NS fully synthetic oil. Our vendor states that gear-changes are smooth and positive, and that the clutch is light and without slip or judder. The car has been thoroughly under-sealed using Lanoguard. The electrics have been completely cleaned and checked, and a new fuel pump and filter fitted also.

Accompanying documentation includes some service history; various MoT certificates and tax discs; V5C Registration Certificate; MoT to 15th October 2024; and substantial photographic records and details of maintenance and improvements carried out over the last two years. The car also comes complete with its original leather wallet; owner's handbook; Blaupunkt stereo handbook; all tools (in exceptional condition); and a PCGB 1st -in-class concours trophy.
