Alain Prost's 1984 race worn Dallas Grand Prix GPA helmet,
The 1984 Dallas Grand prix was to be one-off appearance on the F1 calendar. The heat was so unbearable that the race was delayed due to support races damaging the track surface, and having to be repaired with quick-dry cement, Nigel Mansell passed out after pushing his car across the finish line. Niki Lauda and Alain Prost attempted to organise a boycott, however Rosberg insisted the race go ahead. Alain Prost passed Rosberg on lap 49 but after a collision with the wall his punctured McLaren was forced to retire. Only 8 out of the 26 drivers made it across the finish line. A spectacular and unforgettable race for a number of reasons.
