Frame no. F1050

Just as he had done at Ariel in the 1920s, Val Page transformed his new employer's ageing range on his arrival at Coventry as Triumph's Chief Designer in 1932. The new line-up consisted of overhead-valve and sidevalve singles in capacities ranging from 250cc to 500cc, plus the top-of-the-range 650cc 6/1sidecar tug. Endowed with distinctive timing-gear covers - a feature this most prolific designer would employ at BSA later in the decade – these new Triumph engines were simple yet robust in construction and amenable to a fair degree of tuning in the case of the overhead-valve units. Suitably embellished with extra chrome, the Page singles formed the basis for Edward Turner's sporting Tiger models from 1936 onwards.

Presented in incomplete 'barn find' condition, this Model 2/1 twin-port is offered for restoration and sold strictly as viewed. There are no documents with this Lot.
