THE CAR OFFERED
The Charger was Dodge's upscale muscle car, blending the high equipment levels and comfort of the 'personal luxury' class, with the power and performance of a pure muscle car. Somewhat of a 'sleeper,' the 1970 Charger R/T from the Golden State Muscle Car Collection lives up to that upmarket character with it's black over black livery, doing without the usual flashy stripes and stickers of the era. The covered headlights, Rallye wheels, and raised-white-letter Polyglas tires, complete the businesslike looks.
Of course, this Charger R/T has the grunt to match its tough appearance. A V-Code car, it is powered by the mighty 440 6-Pack, rated (conservatively) at 390 horsepower. The engine mates to a 4-speed manual transmission, operated via the iconic pistol grip shifter. Power goes to the ground via a Super Track Pak rear axle.
Appropriately well-equipped, this Charger came from the factory with bucket seats, center console, rally gauges, Tic-Toc-Tach, and AM radio. The restoration is well-preserved, with excellent detailing throughout, particularly under the hood where the mighty 440 rests.
Among the most desirable machines of the muscle car era, this Charger R/T 440 Six-Pack is ready to lay endless black strips of rubber – but done with a touch of class.
