THE CAR OFFERED
"When I take her to the track she really shines, She always turns the fastest times [Giddy up, Giddy up, 409!]" - The Beach Boys
In 1963, Chevrolet introduced a beautiful new full-sized impala, with an all-new look that was low, clean and crisp; the antithesis to the wild chrome-and-fins from the turn of the decade. As Chevy's flagship, they were sure not to skimp on equipment or performance, making the potent 'W-engine' (named for its W-shaped heads) 409 cubic inch V8 available in the Impala to create one of the most appealing (and feared, if you drove a comparable Ford or Dodge) big sporting cars of the time.
Resplendent in Tuxedo Black with a black top and interior, this 1963 Impala Super Sport from the Golden State Muscle Car Collection is a fabulous example that is loaded with desirable factory options. According to the trim tag and chassis number, this is a genuine 409 SS, finished from new in this 'triple black' livery, and equipped with a litany of factory options including the 340bhp 409 engine, Powerglide transmission, power brakes, power steering, power windows, bucket seats, center console, and air conditioning.
Wearing a beautifully preserved older restoration, it is an outstanding example to show or drive, with wonderful period detailing and authentic touches. Pile in your friends, drop the top, crank up the radio and 'Giddy Up!'
