THE CAR OFFERED

In 1941, Chevrolet introduced a new line of light-duty trucks which brought previously unseen levels of refinement and style to the pickup market. Known as the 'AK' series, the new trucks hold the distinction of being the first General Motors pickup designed from the ground up as a truck – rather than being based on a passenger car. Handsomely styled, they were a big hit for GM, bridging the gap between World War II, and continuing in production until 1947.

As the sole pickup truck in the Golden State Muscle Car Collection, this 1941 Chevrolet AK ½ ton makes a bold statement. Presented in beautiful condition, it is a delightful pickup, finished in a lovely shade of red with black fenders, and rolling on matching red wheels with deluxe trims. Acquired by the collection in 2022, it was previously in long-term California ownership, and benefits from a quality restoration, with charmingly authentic detailing. To improve the experience, the electrics have been updated with more reliable alternator charging, yet the truck retains a period correct look and the proper Thrift Master OHV inline-six.

Ready to enjoy on the farm, vineyard, or for Sunday morning coffee runs, this beautiful Chevy ½ ton is a rare example of Chevrolet's first true pickup, with a bedload of character and charm.
