So-called because of its fuel tank's unusual shape, the Rumi Gobbetto (little hunchback) competizione version of the Italian manufacturer's 125cc two-stroke twin debuted at the 1951 Milan Motorcycle Show. The Gobbetto would evolve through two series before production ceased in 1955, changes being mainly confined to the cylinder barrel (cast-iron at first, aluminium later) and the ignition system, while Series 2 machines also featured a different frame and fuel tank, and swinging-arm rear suspension, replacing the S1's plunger arrangement. Sources vary with regard to the number produced, figures ranging from as low as 40 to as high as 60. No documents.

As with all Lots in the Sale, this Lot is sold 'as is/where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding.

Ainsi nommée du fait de la forme inhabituelle de son réservoir, la Rumi Gobbetto (petite bossue) version competizione de la 125 bicylindres deux-temps du constructeur italien fut présentée au Salon de la moto de Milan 1951. La Gobbetto devait ensuite exister en deux générations successives, jusqu'à sa fin de production survenue en 1955. Les évolutions de l'une à l'autre portaient essentiellement sur le cylindre (d'abord en fonte, puis en aluminium) et le système d'allumage ; les Série 2 étaient également dotées d'un cadre et d'un réservoir différents, ainsi que d'une suspension arrière à bras oscillant, en remplacement du système coulissant des Série 1. Selon les sources, le nombre d'exemplaires produits varie entre 40 et 60. Pas de documents.
