Reviving a famous name from Aston Martin's past, the DBS was based on the DB9 and replaced the outgoing Vanquish S in 2008 as the company's top-of-the-range supercar. Before then, the world got a mouth-watering preview when a DBS appeared in Casino Royale (2006), Daniel Craig's debut in the role of James Bond. The DBS also appeared in the opening sequence of Quantum of Solace, the follow up film released in 2008.

In terms of its styling, the DBS was clearly a development of the DB9 but with the additions of a carbon-fibre front splitter and rear diffuser among others, while state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques were employed in making the aluminium/composite body. The power unit was a development of the 5.9-litre, 48-valve, V12 engine found in other Aston Martin models, producing 510bhp initially, an output sufficient to propel the aerodynamic DBS to a top speed of 305km/h (190mph) in manual transmission form, with 60mph attainable from a standing start in a neck-snapping 4.3 seconds.

Inside the DBS one finds the typically elegant, luxurious and supremely comfortable hand crafted interior traditionally associated with Aston Martin, featuring primarily wood and leather trim as well as the latest in modern technology, subtly deployed. In accordance with Aston Martin tradition, the convertible version was given the name 'Volante' on its introduction in 2009. DBS Production ceased in 2012.

Built to Swiss specification and finished in Silver Fox with Chancellor Red leather interior, this automatic transmission DBS Volante was ordered new by our vendor, one of Aston Martin's VIP clients (a copy of the specification sheet is on file). Kept on static display as part of the vendor's extensive private collection, the DBS benefits from recent recommissioning by Stratton Motor Company. It should be noted that the car is not sold with any registration document; accordingly, prospective purchasers should satisfy themselves with regard to the registration requirements in their own jurisdiction. Please note that if this vehicle is sold to a French private buyer or an EU private individual it will be subject to Import Duty at 10% (+VAT) and 20% Import VAT on the hammer price. The Import VAT and Duty will be invoiced to you by our custom broker who will also charge a clearance fee. If you buy as a Trader or Company however, the Finances Publiques will charge you the Import VAT directly (based on our customs broker clearance) and the Import Duty will be charged by our customs broker and include a clearance fee. Import rates to other EU Country's may vary for VAT rate and an administration fee will be charged to prepare the necessary customs clearances. La DBS, qui redonnait vie à un célèbre nom du passé d'Aston Martin, était dérivée de la DB9 ; c'était en 2008 la supercar de haut de gamme de la firme, qui remplaçait la Vanquish S en fin de carrière. Un avant-goût en avait été offert au public un peu auparavant, lorsqu'une DBS était apparue en 2006 dans Casino Royale, où Daniel Craig faisait ses débuts dans le rôle de James Bond. Elle s'était aussi montrée dans la séquence d'ouverture de Quantum of Solace, le deuxième opus de la série sorti en 2008.

En matière d'aspect, la DBS se situait dans la droite ligne de la DB9, mais avec en plus, entre autres, un spoiler avant et un diffuseur arrière en fibre de carbone et le recours au meilleur de la technique pour la fabrication de sa carrosserie en aluminium composite. Son moteur était une évolution du V12 de 5,9 litres à 48 soupapes déjà monté sur d'autres Aston Martin, qui délivrait ici 517 ch, une puissance qui assurait à cette DBS bien profilée une vitesse de 305 km/h en boîte manuelle ; elle abattait le 0 à 100 km/h en 4,3 étourdissantes secondes.

A l'intérieur, la DBS offrait cet habitacle typique, élégant, luxueux, extraordinairement confortable et fait main qu'on associe traditionnellement aux Aston Martin et qui de plus ajoutait à un garnissage en cuir et bois des touches des plus récentes technologies, subtilement mises en œuvre. Conformément à la tradition de la marque, la version cabriolet lancée en 2009 reçut l'appellation "Volante". La production de la DBS prit fin en 2012.

Construite en version Suisse, de couleur Silver Fox sur un intérieur en cuir rouge Chancellor Red, cette DBS Volante à boîte automatique fut commandée neuve par notre vendeur, un client VIP d'Aston Martin (une copie du bordereau de commande figure au dossier). Conservée en exposition au sein de son importante collection privée, cette DBS a récemment bénéficié d'une remise en état effectuée par la Stratton Motor Company. Il faut noter qu'elle est vendue sans aucun document d'immatriculation et qu'en conséquence les acheteurs potentiels doivent s'enquérir auprès de leur administration de ce que sont les documents nécessaires.
