Footnotes

This Mercedes-Benz G-Class was manufactured to European specification and sold new in Japan, as evidenced by the material safety data sheet and history provided by Mercedes-Benz France. It was specially prepared by the Brabus distributor in Tokyo, receiving special camshafts and a freer-flowing exhaust system that boosted maximum power to 330bhp. Unfortunately, no records survive of the work. Other enhancements include ventilated brake discs and Brabus calipers; bespoke Koni shock absorbers; a Brabus body kit; and 23" Giovanna wheels.

The interior was re-trimmed in navy blue leather with red Brabus embossing; headlining and door panels in blue Alcantara, with red stitching; poplar woodwork; and gear knob, steering wheel, and pedals marked Brabus, etc. Other notable features include Hi-fi Diamond Audio Technology and Alpine media preparation (screens on the back of the front sun visors and a large central screen to be reconfigured by a specialist in the language of the buyer's country).

This car has been very well preserved (no one cherishes their cars like the Japanese): the paint is original, as shown in the photographs measuring its thickness, while interior woodwork and leather are also very well preserved. The Mercedes-Benz Paris Longchamp team, who carried out a thorough overhaul of the car, was surprised by its very good state of conservation, deducing that it must have been kept a properly heated garage all its life. The result is a rare Brabus G-Class 500, with devastating looks, presented in superb condition having had relatively little usage!
