1975 Mercedes-Benz MB Tractor 65/70 Series 440

1975 Mercedes-Benz MB Tractor 65/70 Series 440

Originally introduced in 1972, the MB Trac combined the Unimog's trusted all-wheel drive technology which transmitted its power via four large wheels with the outward styling of a tractor with the driver cabin situated in the middle of the two axles. The model survived in various guises and engine variants until 1991. In that time frame some estimated 40,000 examples were built and the survival rate is such that of those some 30,000 are believed to still being in service.

This example comes with the 65 kW/90 hp engine. Registered in Germany, it has been used by its first owner from 1975 to 1977, the second owner would keep the car from 1977 to 1994. Just over 8,000 operating hours are recorded. The tractor was purchased for the collection in 2008 and has seen little use since and would need recommissioning as the engine currently does not start.
German registration documents.
