1978 Laverda 744cc 750SF
Registration no. Q904 GBG
Frame no. LAV.750.SF3*19694*
Engine no. 750*19694*

19694 has an interesting history. It is from a batch of Laverdas supplied to the Kuwaiti Police Department in 1978. In 1983, 29 of them were discovered by a British wood importer, languishing unused in a depot, having been set aside for various reasons, and left in storage whilst other machines were put into use. The 29 machines stored at the depot comprised mostly 750GTL models, together with eleven 750 SF3 models and a single 1000 3C. The machines from this batch are believed to be some of the last 750 SF3 models to be manufactured. The importer was able to buy the collection of machines, and duly shipped them to the UK. Acquainted with the importer, the present owner of 19694 purchased it in 1984, and set about converting it to civilian trim, correcting any faults found in the process, refreshing the paintwork and replacing or replating the chrome. His task was completed in 1988, eventually registering the machine that year. Since the registration of the Laverda, the vendor has covered only approximately 520 miles, and the bike has been kept in good storage conditons since. Last used on the road in 2019, the vendor fitted a new battery to the machine in November 2022, and it was last started in August this year. The vendor advises that the bike will need safety checks and some re-commissioning before returning to the road for regular use. Documentation with 19694 comprises an older type V5C, a dating certificate from the Italian Motorcycle Owners Club, a quantity of invoices, some expired MoTs, and sundry papers.
