In 1926, Ariel's Chief Designer Val Page laid down the basis of the company's four-stroke singles range. The following year he moved the magneto behind the engine and thus established the form in which the Ariel single would survive for the next 30 years. Offered here is an example of the overhead-valve twin-port Model LF (there was also a sidevalve version, the Model LB). An incomplete project missing rear mudguard, handlebars, saddle, primary chain case, rear brake, exhaust system and sundry other components, this 250 Ariel is sold strictly as viewed. There are no documents with this Lot. Requiring restoration to a greater or lesser extent, prospective bidders must satisfy themselves as to the condition, completeness, correctness, date and suitability of the machine's component parts prior to bidding.
Footnotes
All lots are sold 'as is/where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding.
