Founded in 1965 in Montemurlo (near Florence) by Jos・ Becocci, Moto Bimm traded under various other names including Bimm, Bimotor and, in collaboration with the Gori brothers, Gori-Bimm. The Italian company built lightweight roadsters and moto-cross machines in capacities from 50cc to 125cc, often using Minarelli engines. In 1971 Moto Bimm won the Italian 50cc Championship with riders Franco Ravagli and Giorgio Paci. From its zenith in 1976, by which time it was producing 20,000 machines annually, Moto Bimm's fortunes declined and motorcycle production wound down, although the firm re-emerged later in the 1980s as a bicycle manufacturer.

Reputedly one of only three built, this example being considered number '2', the Moto Bimm racer offered here is believed to be Franco Ravagli's works bike. The Minarelli engine was treated to a complete rebuild in 2022: new con-rod, big-end and small-end pins, all engine bearings, oil seals, 'O' rings, gaskets, etc. While it is believed that this machine was ridden by Franco Ravagli, prospective purchasers must satisfy themselves with regard to its racing history, authenticity and originality prior to bidding.

For Memorabilia and Spares (Lots 1-117) the Buyers Premium is 27.5% on the first £20,000 of the hammer price; 26% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £20,000 up to and including £700,000; 20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £700,000 up to and including £4,500,000 and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
Motorcycles
For Motorcycles (Lots 201-276 & 301-560) the Buyers Premium will be 15% on the first £500,000 of the Hammer Price of each Lot, and 12% on the balance thereafter.
Buyers attention is drawn to Condition 7 of the Notice to Bidders. VAT at the standard rate is payable on the Premium by all Buyers, unless otherwise stated.
