The Raleigh Bicycle Company was established in the 1880s, and grew to be a major global manufacturing company, making bicycles, motorcycles, cars, and many other things. A major presence and employer in its home town of Nottingham, it eventually grew to be the world's largest manufacturer of bicycles. They naturally adopted motorcycle manufacturing, in common with many other bicycle makers, and, after World War Two, as the market grew, they turned to producing mopeds, eventually switching to the Motobecane engine. The Ultramatic model joined the range in 1965, featuring a fully automatic, infinitely variable transmission with automatic clutch. MDC 438G was acquired by the owner some years ago. Whilst the bike has not been used since that time, it has been kept in good, dry storage, but it will require re-commissioning or restoration to some degree. It requires no key, has no documentation, and the displayed registration number does not appear on the DVLA database.
