THE PORSCHE 911

A 'modern classic' if ever there was one, Porsche's long running 911 arrived in 1964, replacing the 356. Two years after the original Coupe's introduction, the convertible 911 – the 'Targa', named in honor of Porsche's numerous victories in the Sicilian classic – arrived in 1966. Expected US safety legislation had prompted an ingenious approach to the soft-top 911, the Targa sporting a hefty roll-over bar to protect the occupants in the event of an inversion, together with removable roof and rear hood sections which were stowable in the boot. The ever-popular Targa would continue well into the 1990s, sharing countless mechanical and styling developments with its closed cousin along the way.

THE MOTORCAR OFFERED

This classic 1978 Porsche 911SC Targa exudes style and elegance. Power is generated by a 3.0L flat-six engine and transferred to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle. The car is equipped with a black Targa top, 16" Fuchs wheels, front and rear spoilers, H1 headlights, fog lights, three-spoke steering wheel, and Pioneer AM/FM stereo system.

The white exterior of this 911SC contrasts nicely against the brown upholstery with beige carpets that ensconces the lucky occupants. The car also comes with cruise control, power windows, and a center console with a cassette holder. The three-spoke steering wheel provides a sporty touch and sits in front of a tachometer, speedometer, and combination gauges that display fuel level, oil level, oil temperature, and oil pressure.

This Porsche was originally delivered to Canada and has been with its current owner for 5 years. The owner states that the body was refinished in white and fitted with a replacement black Targa panel. The car also features black-finished 16" Fuchs-style wheels with polished lips, and the front wheels are wrapped in Falken Ziex ZE-912 tires, while the rear wheels are fitted with Yokohama S.drive tires. The 911SC also comes with front and rear stabilizer bars and four-wheel vented disc brakes.

This classic Porsche 911SC Targa is a true masterpiece of German engineering, combining style and power to create a one-of-a-kind driving experience. Get behind the wheel and relive the glory days of Porsche.
