THE 911 GT3

'Since its launch in 1999, the Porsche 911 GT3 has been the benchmark against which every other track-focused car has been rated. There are more powerful, more expensive 911s, but the GT3 represents the sports car at its purest and most intense. In fact, all four generations of GT3 arguably rank alongside 1973's legendary 2.7 RS in the annals of greatest 911s.' - Auto Express.

Intended primarily for racing, though still road legal, the Porsche 911 GT3 - first introduced in 1999 - can trace its ancestry all the way back through a succession of high-performance models to the legendary 911 Carrera RS of 1973. The car takes its name from the FIA's GT3 category of production sports car racing and has been produced in a variety of versions since its introduction in 1999 on the Type 996 iteration of the perennial 911. The 996 GT3 was produced from 1999 until 2005, although deliveries to North America didn't start until 2004. The popular 'Mezger' engine received a well-deserved power increase when the car transitioned from the previous 996.1 iteration to the updated version of 996.2, going from 355hp to a healthy 380hp from its naturally aspirated 3.6L flat-6 engine. Along with the mechanical upgrades, the 996.2 also received updated aerodynamics including newly design headlights exclusive to the 911 models. These updates made the car widely improved and ensured it was ready for its introduction to the North American market.

THE MOTORCAR OFFERED

This exceptional 911 GT3 was produced in September of 2003 and amongst the first delivered GT3 models to the United States. Finished in the very stealth Basalt Black over Black leather, this is reportedly only one of 54 US GT3's built in Basalt Black metallic, which was a cost optional color choice. This example features a nice list of options including US Standard Emissions, Ceramic Brake system with yellow calipers, cruise control, automatic air conditioning, Bi-Xenon headlights w/ washers, door sills in stainless steel, steering wheel in leather w/ leather airbag, floor mats and footwell lighting. Other notable options include lightweight European spec optional Clubsport Recaro racing seats with custom 'pepita' inserts as well as an updated factory Porsche navigation head unit called Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM). This 911 GT3 has been well cared for and spent most of its life serviced by Porsche factory dealerships.

At the time of cataloging, this GT3 has covered just 40,071 miles with minimal wear and tear. This Porsche is in overall very nice condition, and comes equipped with a clean Carfax report, clean DME report and a Porsche Product Specifications certificate. The car will be accompanied by many dealerships service receipts to show the terrific upkeep this car has received. For many, the 911 GT3 is considered the ultimate 911, it possesses all of the creature comforts that Porsche enthusiasts have come to know and love, while being able to attain incredible lap times on the racetrack in full analog driver enjoyment. With its naturally aspirated 380hp engine, 8,000 rpm redline, scant lightweight unibody construction, this first-generation US GT3 was a great success within the Porsche enthusiasts. The sale of this car presents an incredible opportunity to acquire one of the most essential, driver focused modern analog Porsche's while being the lowest production US GT3 models to date. Surely a wonderful opportunity to own one of the best driver cars of the modern Porsche era.
