1991 Honda Z50J Baja Limited Edition
Frame no. Z50J-1702379
Engine no. Z50JE-1702414

With the launch of the Z100 in 1961, Honda created the class known as 'Monkey Bikes', so called because of their diminutive stature. The power unit was the C100 step-thru's reliable four-stroke single, while an ultra-short wheelbase, small wheels, and a vestigial fuel tank were all features of a machine which, in the case of the folding handlebar version, could be fitted into the boot of a car. An important milestone in Monkey development was reached in 1974 with the launch of the Z50J, which featured front and rear suspension like a 'proper' motorcycle while retaining the overhead-camshaft engine and 8" wheels, first seen on the Z50A respectively. Immensely popular as paddock transport the world over, Monkeys are currently much in vogue, and original examples of these charismatic little machines can only become increasingly collectible.

Inspired by Honda's legendary Africa Twin adventure bike, this rare and collectible Honda Baja Limited Edition Monkey Bike is one of only 3,000 built in 1991 for the Japanese market only. A first-series Baja that recently received a complete 'AAA+' restoration, the machine comes with Belgian registration papers and even its original toolkit.

Please note that as this car has less than 6,000 kilometres recorded on the odometer, it is considered to be a New Means of Transport under EU law and will incur a VAT liability if sold to an EU country other than Belgium. The current French VAT rate of 20% will be applied on the Hammer price.
