Footnotes
The Honda US90 was a three-wheeled, off-road recreational vehicle designed by Osamu Takeuchi. Development began in 1967 in response to requests from North American dealers for a product that would be usable in the motorcycle off-season. Many alternatives were considered before Takeuchi settled on a three-wheeled design with low-pressure balloon tires, driven by an 89cc engine producing 7bhp, which drove via a four-speed, dual-range, semi-automatic transmission. Built only for the North American market, the US90 was first offered for $595 (US) in 1970 and sold until 1973 when it was replaced by the similar ATC90 ('All Terrain Cycle'). Perhaps surprisingly, the US90 belongs in the pantheon of 'James Bond' vehicles, having been ridden by Sean Connery in the film Diamonds Are Forever (1971) in one of the most famous chase scenes in the franchise's history. No Honda trike is more collectible than the US90, as it was the Japanese manufacturer's first three-wheeler.
This rare and collectible Honda US90 is presented in highly original condition, never restored and retaining its original paintwork we're advised. Only the original type wheels and original type balloon tyres have been changed by regular wheels and tyres. A 'must have' for the serious Honda collector, this charming little trike is offered in ready-to-use condition.
