Footnotes

KTM 1 195 cm3 RC8 – 2010
Cadre n° VBKVR54009M958529

2010 KTM 1,195cc RC8
Frame no. VBKVR54009M958529

KTM's first, and so far only, venture into the superbike market, the RC8 arrived in 2008. The Austrian firm already had considerable experience of building high-performance v-twin roadsters and adventure bikes, so it came as no surprise to anyone that their superbike used this type of power plant: in the RC8's case a water-cooled 1,148cc 8-valve unit. This went into KTM's trademark trellis frame, while the top-quality suspension was supplied by their WP subsidiary. Unusually, for a superbike at least, KTM built in a quite extraordinary amount of adjustability: the handlebars, handlebar controls, footrests, gearchange lever, rear brake pedal, and seat height all being adjustable, enabling the RC8 to accommodate riders of various sizes. Engine capacity was increased to 1,195cc for 2010. Production of the RC8 ceased in 2015 and KTM has shown no signs of doing anything similar in the near future.

Currently showing 18,235km on the odometer, this example is offered with a manufacturer's Certificate of Conformity and Belgian registration documents.
