Footnotes

Benelli Tornado Naked Tre 899 N – 2010
Cadre n° ZBNTN03009P100124

2010 Benelli Tornado Naked Tre 899 N
Frame no. ZBNTN03009P100124

Introduced in 2004, the Benelli Tornado Naked Tre 899 was a development of the Italian firm's three-cylinder Tornado superbike. Launched in 2002 to universal acclaim, the latter featured an 899cc three-cylinder engine, while under-seat radiators - cooled by fans and adopted to keep the bike's frontal area to a minimum - were just one of the many talking points of a machine that oozed hand-built quality from every fastening. For the Naked model, Benelli did away with the superbike's aluminium beam frame, opting instead for tubular steel main spars, and moved the radiators to either side of the cylinder head beneath plastic shrouds. The result was one of the most aggressive looking 'super nakeds' on the market. The superbike's inline three-cylinder engine and six-speed gearbox were retained, the former being slightly de-tuned to a still more than adequate 118bhp maximum. Weighing 218kg (481lb), the Tornado Naked Tre had a claimed top speed of 230km/h (143mph).

This example has covered circa 4,000km from new and comes with a manufacturer's Certificate of Conformity and Belgian registration papers.
