THE MOTORCAR OFFERED
This original left-hand drive configured Rolls-Royce Cloud III, was ordered new to this country through British Motor Cars Distributors in San Francisco by Harrah's in Reno, Nevada for Ronald L. Fredianelli of Las Vegas. Mr. Fredianelli, whose stage name was Ronnie Gaylord, was a successful singer, song writer, and comedian in the 1960s and '70s and ordered this car while his career was booming as a feature on numerous variety shows. Finished in two-tone Tudor Grey over Shell Grey over Scarlet leather and Cherry Red lambskin rugs. Finished in March of 1963, it was first registered two years later. Retained by Mr. Fredianelli until 1989 with a reported 26,26,337 original miles, it was understood to have been well preserved condition when marque specialists Vantage Motorworks in Miami, Florida was entrusted to refresh the car including a repaint in Shell Grey lacquer, refinishing of the wood veneers, replating the chrome as necessary and fitting a fresh set of Wilton carpets. Additionally, the Rolls was mechanically recommissioned including the fitment of an alternator in place of the original generator, and a modernized air conditioning compressor was installed under the hood. In 2007, then showing 35,269 miles—which are reported to have been original but are not documented—the Rolls was further improved with a second limousine type A/C unit mounted in the trunk along with a modernized stereo. It should be noted that all work completed was done in such a way as to allow the car to be brough to original stock should one wish to do so.
Acquired by the current owner in July of 2007, the Cloud III was describes and being in 'exceptional order mechanically and cosmetically' by the seller at the time. Since joining the present collection, the Rolls has been on static display and will thus require some degree of mechanical recommissioning prior to active wafting. A lovely example of Rolls' most developed iteration of the Silver Cloud, this Cloud III, complete with copies of build records, an owner's handbook, tools, and a jack, is primed to glide into the next owner's garage.
