THE 991 GT3

Somewhat confusingly, the seventh generation of Porsche's perennial 911 sports car was designated 'Type 991', succeeding the Type 997. Introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011, the Type 991 is only the third all-new platform for the 911 since the original of 1963, the second being the Type 996 of 1999. Its development overseen by Porsche's Chief Designer, Michael Mauer, the Type 991 represented a logical progression from the Type 997 and was slightly larger than its immediate predecessor while retaining the classic 911 look. The most important chassis change was to the wheelbase, which increased in length by 100mm, while a new transaxle enabled the rear wheels to be relocated 76mm rearwards relative to the engine, improving both weight distribution and cornering performance. Transmission options comprised six-speed or seven-speed manual gearboxes, with Porsche's dual-clutch (PDK) shift optional on the latter. Porsche introduced the 991 GT3 at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013, a true track weapon for the street. Extensive changes were made to the engine allowing a 9,000 rpm redline from the 3.8-liter flat-six engine.

THE MOTORCAR OFFEREDi

This phenomenal GT3 was custom ordered by its sole owner in late 2014. The car is tremendously optioned with what seems like an endless list of add-ons. A few of the more noteworthy options include Racing Yellow paint, Porsche ceramic composite brakes, front axle lift system, sport chrono package including the Porsche track precision app, adaptive sport seats plus (18-way), and LED Porsche dynamic light system.

This Porsche has covered fewer than 900 miles since it rolled out of the factory and has never been on a track. However, the car has had the pleasure of being leisurely driven when not in its temperature-controlled storage facility. Presented here is a rare chance to acquire a practically new 991 GT3 with a dream list of options.
