What defines the 48 special edition is probably its 'peanut tank'. Indeed, that tiny tank, first found on the 1948 125-S alias 'Hummer' came back strongly in the 1950s / 60s with the ever-growing popularity of the brand Sportster – XLCH – and all the hot-rod trends coming with it.
First offered in 2010, the Sportster forty-eight proposed a serious tribute to these days where look was definitely more important than practicality. That being said, other than the small 2.1-gallon tank that can barely take you from point A to B without fearing being short on gas, the front fat tire, cut down rear fender and forward foot-control actually made the ride nice and stylish. The shorter shocks also permitted to keep the 567 wet pounds low and thus easy to manage.
This Sportster features a custom pink paint job with hand painted tank detail. While it has been barely risen, this motorcycle has been on static display in recent years and should be treated to some recommissioning prior to active service.
