A rare 'Eos Herald of Dawn' mascot, by Josephine Sykes, introduced 26th February 1927,

signed 'J.Sykes 26.2.27' to lower edge of drape, and inscribed 'Eos, Herald of Dawn' around the base, cire perdue nickel-plated bronze mascot with fine detailing depicting an elegant female with arms outstretched, the drapes of her dress flowing in the wind, 19cm high, with mounting stud, in single family ownership for 70 years.

signée « J.Sykes 26.2.27 » sur le bord inférieur du drapé avec la mention "Eos Herald of Dawn" sur le pourtour de la base, mascotte en bronze à la cire perdue finement détaillée représentant une élégante figure féminine les bras écartés et la robe flottant au vent, hauteur 19 cm avec goujon de fixation. Dans la même famille depuis 70 ans.

Accepted to the Royal Academy at age 19, talented sculptress Josephine Sykes joined her father, famed creator of the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy mascot, Charles Sykes, in car mascot production.

Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
