A BARC Brooklands 1926 '24th 90 MPH Short Handicap' 2nd place sterling silver trophy awarded to Alfred Moss,
Research suggests that Alfred Ethelbert Moss (1896-1972), father of famed British racing drivers Stirling and Pat, was awarded this trophy for achieving 2nd place in his Frontenac-Ford in the 90Mph Short Handicap at the 1926 Brooklands Summer Meeting, behind winner Felix Scriven's Hooker-Thomas engined Special "Nanette" and ahead of E.L.Meeson's Vauxhall OE 30/98.
Provenance: According to information received this trophy was passed to the vendor by his great aunt, Kathleen Newley, who was secretary to Stirling Moss's father Alfred Ethelbert Moss.
