Footnotes

With the launch of the Z100¬ in 1961, Honda created the class known as 'Monkey Bikes', so called because of their diminutive stature. The power unit was the C100 step-thru's reliable four-stroke single, while an ultra-short wheelbase, small wheels, and a vestigial fuel tank were all features of a machine which, in the case of the folding handlebar version, could be fitted into the boot of a car. In 1963 the first CZ100 model appeared, the first model in line after the 1961 Honda Z100. The CZ100 was the first commercial Honda minibike mainly sold at the European Market. The CZ100 is equipped with an 49cc 4-stroke engine, and don't have any suspension. The wheels are only 5 inch.

This particular example has been restored a long time ago and is fitted with a different headlight for the French market. We're advised by the vendor that this CZ100 has been standing 'on display' for a long time and would need a mechanical check up prior to use. In view of age and the small number of surviving examples of the first 'commercial' monkeybike, this CZ100 has become very collectable around the world. This minibike comes with Belgian registration papers.

Honda CZ100 « minimoto » 1964
Cadre n° S00-2161
Moteur n° C100E-64787
