Introduced in 1973, the 'Series 3' version of Aston Martin's successful V8 employed a quartet of Weber carburettors instead of the previous Bosch mechanical fuel injection; the change, which necessitated a larger bonnet bulge, bringing with it increased torque, smoother running at low speeds, and improved fuel economy. Power output of the standard car was now well in excess of 300bhp and in manual transmission form the V8 could reach 100mph in around 13.5 seconds and better 160mph flat-out, with the automatic not that far behind.

This automatic transmission V8 was delivered via Aston Martin (Sales) Ltd, leaving the Newport Pagnell factory finished in Madagascar Brown with Magnolia interior trim and equipped with over-riders; two Rearguard fog lamps; and a lockable centre armrest. The UK V5 registration document on file records the owner at time of issue as one Paul Salisbury of Dorset and before him (from 27th October 2007) as Miss Samantha Vincent, also of Dorset. Also on file is a copy of the Car Record Card and an invoice from Classicmobilia relating to the Aston's sale in May 2010. 'BHJ 376S' is listed in the HPI database; nevertheless, prospective purchasers must satisfy themselves with regard to this vehicle's registration status prior to bidding. Sold strictly as viewed, the car will require re-commissioning and registering before further use, it is currently running and driving. Import tax at the reduced rate of 5% will apply should the Lot remain in the UK.

Buyers Premium and Charges
Like the vast majority of auctioneers Bonhams charge what is known as a Buyer's Premium. Buyer's Premium on all Automobilia lots will adhere to Bonhams group policy:
27.5% on the first £10,000 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £10,001 up to and including £450,000; 20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £450,001 up to and including £4,500,000 and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,001. (subject to VAT)
For Motor Cars and Motorcycles a 12.5% Buyer's Premium is payable on the final Hammer Price of each Lot. VAT at the standard rate is payable on the Premium by all Buyers, unless otherwise stated.
Some lots may be subject to VAT on the Hammer Price. These lots will be clearly marked with the relevant symbol printed beside the lot number in the catalogue.
Buyers' Obligations
ALL BIDDERS MUST AGREE THAT THEY HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD BONHAMS' CONDITIONS OF SALE AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THEM, AND AGREE TO PAY THE BUYER'S PREMIUM AND ANY OTHER CHARGES MENTIONED IN THE NOTICE TO BIDDERS. THIS AFFECTS THE BIDDERS LEGAL RIGHTS.

Motor Cars
Vehicles must be collected from the sale venue by 12 noon on Monday 6 September 2021 after which they will be uplifted to store at the buyers expense.
Buyers should satisfy themselves that they have collected all relevant log books, documents and keys relating to their Lot(s) at time of collection. Otherwise Lots shall be removed to storage at the Buyer's expense (see below). Lots are at the Buyer's risk from the fall of the hammer. It is strongly advisable that overseas purchasers and absentee bidders make arrangements regarding collection with Bonhams MPH in advance of Sale.
Removal and Storage of Vehicles
All Lots not removed in accordance with the above will be transported by E M Rogers to their depot.

Automobilia
All Automobilia purchased lots must be cleared from the sale venue by 6pm on Sunday 5 September 2021. All un-collected purchased lots shall then be removed to Bonhams Guildford office at the buyers expense.
Bonhams Guildford office located at:

Storage will commence from Tuesday 7 September. NB: E M Rogers provide storage but cannot ship Automobilia lots.
Shippers or Agents wishing to collect on behalf of the purchaser must provide written instruction from the client before Bonhams will release the lot(s).
