Footnotes

The Silver Shadow is one of the most important and iconic vehicles ever produced by Rolls-Royce. The epitome of luxury in 1965, the Silver Shadow was in production for 15 years and proved extremely popular for a vehicle at this price point. Notable owners of the Silver Shadow include the likes of Frank Sinatra, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Mohammed Ali, Dean Martin, Johnny Cash, and many more. The car is renowned for bringing Rolls-Royce into the modern era, debuting unitary construction, disc brakes, independent rear suspension and automotive self-levelling.

First registered in February 1972 this example is a honest car, largely original and described by the vendor as solid underneath. The Shadow has been with the current family for many years. Last MoT'd in 2008 (at 56,592 miles) we are told the car has been annually SORN'd since. Not run for the past few years it is finished in maroon, the paintwork has been prepared for restoration/respraying. The black leather interior is described as fair/good. Offered with a current V5C registration document and included in the Lot is the cherished and valuable registration number '76 R'.
