Footnotes
The MG TC was the first new model to be launched by MG following the end of World War II in 1945, and was produced between 1945 and 1950. It was essentially an upgraded version of the TB, and shared the same 1,250cc engine but with a higher compression ratio of 7:4:1, allowing for greater horsepower. The TC was also 4 inches wider than its predecessor, but also slightly faster with its improved engine and 4-speed gearbox. Upon its introduction it was also available in three colours: Black, Regency Red or Shires Green.
This Regency Red 1949 example is in very good restored condition having previously been part restored in the 1980s, and then completed by Exclusive Classic Cars Ltd in 2018. The bodywork, paintwork and interior are in excellent condition, and there is a good history file that includes the documentation and bills for the restoration. The vendor purchased the car in 2018 and reports it's currently running and driving well, however the half shafts may benefit from replacement. Overall this is a lovely example of a quintessential British sports car.
