Footnotes
Produced between 1963 and 1971, the Mercedes-Benz W113 'Pagoda' is one of the company's most iconic vehicles. Introduced in 1967, the Mercedes-Benz 280SL was powered by a new 2.8-litre six-cylinder engine that produced 20bhp more than its 250SL predecessor. There was no change of its 120mph top speed, but it was significantly quicker to 60mph and was a whole second quicker at just 10 seconds. Christened 'Pagoda' after its distinctive cabin shape with generous glass area, these SL models are amongst the best-loved sports-tourers and remain highly sought after by collectors. This 1970 left-hand drive example is a later model that is presented in excellent condition. It's paintwork, chrome, leather interior and carpets are all immaculate. It's 2.8-litre engine is reported to be running and driving very well, and its four-speed automatic is shifting smoothly. The car has completed very few miles since its restoration, and as such presents very well. Offered with a large history file this is an excellent and well-looked after example.
