Mercedes-Benz unveiled the 220SEb at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1959. The SEb featured an elegant design, offering a wider radiator shell, wrap around windscreen, wider rear window, vertically positioned headlamps and discrete tailfins. The high purchase price meant that relatively few were sold in the UK, most with the automatic transmission. This example is still wearing its original Havana Brown paintwork, and is not only right-hand drive, but also a manual. Inside the car retains many original features but will require work. The car is in need of a full restoration inside and out. The engine starts and holds good oil pressure, but will require work to get moving having been in storage for many years. The W111 Fintail is a desirable classic, and this example offers the opportunity to create a new lease of life for the car.
