*RHD example
*Previously restored
*Unique sports exhaust
The Fiat 500L, or 500 "Lusso" as it was known, was produced between 1967-1975 and was essentially a better appointed version of the standard 500. The car featured an additional chrome bar on the front fascia, updated interior, black steering wheel, plastic dash, plus reclining seats and carpets. This 1971 example is in excellent condition and has been previously restored. The car has plenty of receipts on file from a previous owner who undertook the restoration, with the bodywork and paint appointed by Weenie Fiats in the West Country. There are also receipts for a 650cc engine that was purchased in Italy, as well as receipts for Fiat 124 pistons that were fitted in 2010. The sump is also an Abarth replica, and the car has a sports exhaust. The car runs very well, and the little twin carb engine together with the sports exhaust add to the already enjoyable driving experience. The car was also photographed for a Christmas advertising campaign for Jo Malone perfumes, however it is not known whether the images were officially used in print. The car is well finished inside and out, and the paint and interior trim present particularly well. Overall the car is in excellent condition and would prove to be a very enjoyable classic runabout. On a recent test drive this little wolf in sheep's clothing performed faultlessly, a spirited drive, excellent performance and sporty sounds with no undue rattles or noises from within its comfortable cabin.
