The MK2 Scirocco was launched in 1982, and offered a more sporty look than the regular Golf. In the UK, three trim levels were offered – the CL, GL, and GTI, which was then renamed GTX in 1985. In 1989, the Scala joined the range as the replacement for the GTX – offering a revised look with a new body kit. This example was purchased by the vendor who bought the car in April 2018 as a restoration project. The car still had an MOT at the time, but is now off and road and has been dry stored since purchase. The body is solid but tatty, as is the interior. Overall the car will require a lot of attention cosmetically and mechanically. There is little history with the car. The owner hasn't found time to restore the vehicle, hence the sale. The car has great potential and will made a good project for an enthusiast.
