BMC's 'ADO16' model spawned many variants, from the everyman Austin and Morris 1100s and 1300s to the better-appointed Wolseley 1100 and 1300 to the more sporting-inclined Riley Kestrel while at the top of the pecking order was the Austin Vanden Plas Princess, whose luxurious interior mirrored those of the bigger 'VdP' models. This late automatic example had been stored from 1983 before joining a four-car collection which also included a Rolls-Royce. The vendor, who bought it in 2016, admired the model's well-appointed interior, noise suppression and refinement says it has excellent bodywork, Teal Blue paint, trim and glass, and that the interior, including fawn-coloured leather seats, dashboard and door cards are in excellent order throughout. Our vendor says the engine is excellent for starting, running and for presentation and the running gear is also ranked as excellent throughout. The history file is said to be very good.
