*Much potential – restore or preserve?
*Engine rebuilt in 2008
*Very good history
Showing a believed-genuine circa 87,838 miles on the clock, MPH's matching-numbers (engine/chassis) DB2/4 was bought by the now-deceased owner in August 1985 from Nigel Dawes. Initially the car was used regularly, prior to going into storage for the last six-or-so years. Its mileage is backed by old MoT test certificates and the interior, described as being in good original order, backs that up. The engine was rebuilt in around 2008 by Volkspeed Engineering: there are supporting invoices and photographs in the history file. Other bills are included from Aston Service Dorset, Davron and Timothy Stamper. After six years in storage some re-commissioning and attention to bodywork and chassis will be required, but the new owner has the choice of either adopting the currently en vogue 'oily rag' approach or taking this opportunity to effect a full, concours restoration.
