*One-family ownership 1957-2008
*Built as a Speedwell saloon by Rae Davis in 2008
*Goodwood Revival entrant in 2008, 2010 and 2012
This A35 was owned by one Southampton family from 1957 to 2008. That year it was re-built to Speedwell competition specification by specialist Rae Davis, who campaigned it for several years in HRDC events. It also ran at three Goodwood Revivals, being driven by Martin Brundle and television presenter Tony Jardine, in whose hands it finished second overall in 2008. Power comes from a 1293cc engine developing 125bhp at 6800rpm (dynamo print-out available) while the lightened interior features a new Sparco racing seat and harness. Said to be well-maintained this much-loved racer is registered and domiciled in the Netherlands but the 'VRU 776' V5C is with the car, although on a SORN.
A well-known, highly competitive A35 with Goodwood Revival history under its wheels, and one eligible for a host of classic events.
