Mercedes-Benz replaced the 'New Generation' W114/115 models with the W123 and continued a reputation for high-quality construction and dependable mechanicals, clothed in elegant, understated bodywork. Alongside saloon and estate models a coupe, badged CE, was also offered. Here is a 1981 automatic transmission example that is MoT-tested until October and shows 150,000 miles on the odometer. It comes in generally good order, bodywork and paint being presentable, as is the brightwork. The tan interior, including seats, carpets, dashboard and door cards are worn but in serviceable order. Running and driving well, this CE is sensibly estimated and with regular maintenance will be capable of truly stellar mileage.
