Dating from the final year of the original version's production, this Mk1 Golf Cabriolet is finished in Classic Green with black leather sports interior and matching fabric top. Other noteworthy features include tinted windows, special badges, and 15" 'Castellet' wheels. The car was delivered new in Germany to a Mr Schneider, and its other four previous owners in Germany are all documented. At some time the Golf was restored in Germany, although no invoices are available.

De-registered in 2003, the Golf was imported into Belgium in 2004 by Mr Nicolas Gadeyne and placed in storage in Antwerp with the current vendor; it would be neither registered nor driven again until 2019. The car remained untouched after Mr Gadeyne passed away in 2007, and in 2016 ownership was transferred to the current vendor.

In 2019 a thorough service was carried out and some panels repainted (in the original colour) and the car passed the official technical inspection in Belgium and was registered there. The current odometer reading is circa 116,000 kilometres, testifying to the car's lengthy period of inactivity. A relatively little used example of one of the most collectible Volkswagens, this beautiful Golf Cabriolet is offered with an owner's manual, German Fahrzeugbrief, Belgian registration papers, and Belgian technical inspection document.

Datant de la dernière année de la version originale de série, cette Golf 1 cabriolet est vert classique avec intérieur sport en cuir noir et capote en toile assortie. Les autres caractéristiques notables sont les vitres teintées, les écussons spéciaux et des roues Castellet de 15 pouces. La voiture a été livrée neuve en Allemagne à M. Schneider et ses quatre propriétaires suivants en Allemagne sont tous documentés. À un certain moment, la Golf a été restaurée en Allemagne, bien qu'aucune facture ne soit disponible.

Retirée de la circulation en 2003, la Golf fut importée en Belgique en 2004 par M. Nicolas Gadeyne et entreposée à Antvers, chez le vendeur. Elle ne fut ni ré-immatriculée ni utilisée jusqu'en 2019. La voiture resta dans cet état après le décès de M. Gadeyne en 2007 et en 2016 la propriété en fut transférée au vendeur.

En 2019 une révision complète fut effectuée et certains panneaux furent repeints (dans la couleur d'origine) et la voiture passa le contrôle technique officiel en Belgique, puis y fut immatriculée. Le compteur affiche actuellement environ 116 000 kilomètres, témoignant de la longue période d'inactivité de la voiture. Exemplaire relativement peu utilisé de l'une des plus désirables Volkswagen, ce magnifique cabriolet Golf est vendu avec son manuel du propriétaire, son Fahrzeugbrief allemand, ses papiers d'immatriculation belge et son contrôle technique belge.
