Footnotes

Launched at the Paris Salon in 1975, the stunningly beautiful Ferrari 308 GTB marked a welcome return to Pininfarina styling after the Bertone-styled 308 GT/4. The latter's 3.0-litre V8 was retained in 255bhp dry-sump form for the 308 GTB, which was produced initially with glassfibre bodywork, the first time this material had been used for a production Ferrari. The Scaglietti-built 308 used steel after April 1977, while further developments included the introduction that year of an open-top GTS version with Targa-style removable roof; the adoption of Bosch fuel injection (1980); and, finally, revised cylinder heads with four valves per cylinder (1982).

This particular 308 GTS was delivered new to the USA but has been updated with European specification bodywork (bumpers, grille) and has a carburettor-equipped engine. It should be noted that the original speedometer (with 43,000 miles recorded, included in the sale) was replaced with a km/h unit in 2018. The current odometer reading is circa 4,000 kilometres, making the total distance travelled from new circa 73,000 kilometres. Finished in grey metallic with red leather interior, the car is offered with its service book, original tool kit, French Carte Grise, and recent invoices for servicing and replacement parts including timing belts, starter motor, brakes, alternator, water pump, front shock absorbers, etc.

•Livrée neuve aux États-Unis
•Moteur concordant
